A Well-Deserved Thank You !

About 10 years ago, Etta Howard was inspired by her visit to
Grand Goave, Haiti.  She wanted to do more - she wanted
to make an impact on the children there.
SOS - Sewing on Saturday was born - by way of
Etta's rec room at her mobile home court.
That first Saturday, about 10 women came and
began a ministry that has provided an estimated
3,500-4,000 dresses, shorts, shirts and baby
quilts for Haiti and local outreach.
A few years back, SOS become SILK and continues
on with women who are passionate about doing
what we can from where we are.

SILK continues to meet once a month -
we quickly moved to BCC for more space.
Etta's inspiration lives on in Room C212 :) !!

Sunday, June 17 the ladies of SILK honored
Etta for this answer to His Call on her all those
years ago.   We are so grateful to Marie Cook
who took on this gift of love from SILK - a gift of
a beautiful hand-made quilt for Etta to enjoy
for many years to come.

We Love You, Etta!
And we are so proud to have worked
along side of you, sharing our love
of sewing in a way that shares the Love
of our Savior with our Sisters across the world!
